how good are you at welding?
depending on what you want to do depends on what welder you need..
are you planning to weld inside or out?

i guess your thinking of a mig welder. buy the highest ampage you can get for your money and dont go for a gas free mig. try and get hold of a pub bottle you will most likely have to buy a new regulator to fit the pub bottle but will save you loads if your going to be using it quite a bit. i'd do the course before buying the mig you may get some recomendations form the guys taking the course.
